LTCDR Delpercio was commissioned in May 1959, a graduate of Officer Candidate School,
class 42, Newport, RI. He had previously graduated from Wagner College, Steaten Island, NY.
prior to entrance in the navy. His first tour of duty was as first Lt and Gunnery
Officer of the USS Nespelon AOG 55 where he subsequently was detailed as Executive
Officer and augmented into the regular navy in November 1961. Following
graduation from the US Naval Destroyer School he served as Operations Officer
on the William C. Lawe DD 763. His first tour of shore duty as a stuudent at Defense Intelligence School, Washington D.C. during the acedemic years of 1964-1965, was followed by a two year tour at the US Naval Scientific and Technical Intelligence Center in Washington DC. Prior to reporting to USS New DD 818 LTCDR served as Current Intelligence Analyst for IV Corps Tactical Zone of Vietnam, J2MACV. He was awarded the Bornze Star with Combat **V**. He assumed duty as Executive Officer of USS New on 1 August 1968. He is married to the former Barbara M. Littlejohn of Plainfield, NJ, and they have three children.
